Understanding the project
-
A shared ATM is a machine that can be used by customers of all banks participating in the BANCOMAT network. In the long term, it will provide access to the same services currently available through the Spuerkeess S-Bank network (cash withdrawals, cash deposits, foreign currency withdrawals, balance inquiries, etc.).
-
Once the BANCOMAT network has been fully deployed, our customers will benefit from access to an extensive nationwide ATM network and will progressively regain access to all services currently offered through the Spuerkeess S-Bank network (cash withdrawals, cash deposits, foreign currency withdrawals, balance inquiries, etc.).
Timetable and transition
-
The rollout of the BANCOMAT network depends on a number of technical and logistical factors. The deployment schedule is regularly updated by the BANCOMAT. More information on www.BANCOMAT.lu.Throughout the transition period, until summer 2027, S-Bank and BANCOMAT ATMs will coexist to ensure continuity of service.
-
From summer 2026 onwards, the first BANCOMAT ATMs will be put into service with cash withdrawal functionality. Additional features will then be introduced progressively. From phase 2, scheduled for the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027, the services currently available through the S-Bank network (cash withdrawals, cash deposits, foreign currency withdrawals, balance inquiries, etc.) will gradually become available on the BANCOMAT network.
Services available on the machines
-
During the initial phase, starting in summer 2026, BANCOMAT ATMs will provide cash withdrawal services only. From phase 2, scheduled for the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027, all functionalities currently available on the S-Bank network (cash withdrawals, cash deposits, foreign currency withdrawals, balance inquiries, etc.) will be progressively rolled out on the BANCOMAT network.
-
During the first phase, balance enquiries will not yet be available on BANCOMAT ATMs. You will be able to check your account balance via S-Net or at S-Bank ATMs that remain in service. This functionality will become available on the BANCOMAT network from phase 2, at the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027.
Pricing and Terms of Use
-
Cash withdrawals made with a debit card will remain subject to the same pricing conditions currently applicable on the S-Bank network. For credit cards, the direct debit functionality will only be available from Phase 2 of the rollout, scheduled for the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027. However, this feature remains available at certain S-Bank network ATMs that have not yet been replaced. To support our customers, Spuerkeess will cover the fees associated with deferred debit transactions on the BANCOMAT network until the direct debit cash withdrawal functionality with a credit card becomes available in the second phase.
-
No. The pricing conditions currently applicable to the S-Bank network will also apply to the BANCOMAT network. As the direct debit cash withdrawal functionality with a credit card on the BANCOMAT network will only become available in Phase 2 of the rollout, at the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027, Spuerkeess will cover the fees associated with these transactions until this functionality is introduced in the second phase. Any future changes would be communicated in advance in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

The current fees and charges are available in the “Main banking fees – retail customers” document on www.spuerkeess.lu.
