Fidès Executive Partner, the IT recruitment firm for the financial sector in Luxembourg

After an extensive human resources experience in the field of finance, Chaffa Zaroui chose to shift her focus to the world of entrepreneurship and launch her own recruitment firm. In this article, she explains what pushed her to take this step. Enjoy your reading!

Meet Chaffa

I’m the founder of Fidès Executive Partner. I started my career in the human resources department of Société Générale Bank and Trust (SGBT) in Luxembourg in 2011. This experience taught me everything about the bank’s business lines and strengthened my human resources skills.

At the end of 2013, I had the opportunity to join the Paris consulting firm 42 Consulting as a Key Account Manager to develop its Luxembourg business. This firm specialises in designing applications dedicated to trading rooms and asset managers.

Then, in September 2016, I chose to join the Sopra Steria group, the leader in digital transformation in Europe, as Head of the Banking and Insurance Market.

Over the years, I actively participated in recruiting more than a hundred candidates and created a solid professional network.

In December 2019, I decided to launch Fidès, a recruitment firm specialising in IT for the financial sector. I wanted to offer a high-quality service while putting the human element to the centre of the recruitment process.

The idea of creating a business

The idea of entrepreneurship appealed to me for several years. The multiple projects I had in mind were very divers.

In 2018, after the birth of my second child, I decided to take the step by working on the most relevant, most realistic project.

The stages of business creation

1. Thinking and Sharing

I spent a long time developing my project, refining it over the months. I also discussed the subject extensively to compare my project with the reality on the ground.

I wanted to offer a high-quality service while putting the human element to the centre of the recruitment process.

2. Support

After I thought about it for a long time and prepared a business plan, I decided to seek support from Nyuko (chamber of commerce). I went through one of their programmes, which I enjoyed very much. I was also lucky enough to be accompanied by one of the team members, and we talked a lot about each phase necessary to launch a company for the long term.

3. Launch of Fidès in December 2019

Launch of Fidès after 2 years of preparation!

Chaffa’s advice to future entrepreneurs

The first bit of advice I’d give is to trust yourself.

However, it’s important to prepare your entrepreneurial project rigorouslyand to be supported by professionals   familiar with the Luxembourg economic fabric and who, through their functions, have a great deal of experience on the subject. It’s also essential to know how to surround yourself with the right people.
