Evergreens Insights: The significance of housing advice according to Alexandra Kugener

In this short extract from the Evergreens by Spuerkeess podcast, we give the floor to Alexandra Kugener, housing advisor at Spuerkeess. She explains how advisors support customers in their energy renovation projects by combining financial expertise with knowledge of available subsidies.

Alexandra, what is the role of a housing advisor in a renovation project?

Our mission is to support the customer far beyond his financing needs. We analyse his project, help him structure his budget, and provide information about available subsidies and simulators. The goal is to offer tailored advice adapted to each situation.

Tailored advice is what sets us apart.

Are customers well-informed before visiting a branch?

Yes, often they already have a clear idea of the work to be done and have sometimes even consulted an energy advisor beforehand. They come to us to validate the financial feasibility and get additional advice. That’s where our expertise truly comes into play.

How has your training with "energieagence" changed your approach?

They’ve allowed us to go further in our advisory role. We now better understand the technical aspects, the available subsidies, and how the grant mechanisms work. This gives us a solid foundation to guide the customer from the very first meeting, before referring him to a technical expert if needed.

What are the main psychological or technical obstacles you observe?

A lack of projection. Customers struggle to visualise the concrete impact on their bills or the value of their property. They hesitate to take the plunge, especially when the work seems complex. That’s why we emphasise simulations and cost transparency.

How can energy renovation be a factor in increasing property value?

A well-insulated and energy-efficient home sells better. It offers greater comfort and reduces energy costs. It’s a long-term investment that makes sense, even without subsidies. But customers need to understand this—and that’s where our role is essential.
