Spuerkeess Code Club: let’s get coding!

Like most kids these days, Sophie’s niece Emma has grown up with mobile phones and ipads. Fully at ease with the new technologies, she’s very interested in all things digital and has joined the Spuerkeess Code Club to get a feel for computer logic and programming tools!

What exactly is the Spuerkeess Code Club?

Created in 2013 and inspired by the Code Clubs launched in the UK in 2012, the Luxembourg Code Club is a non-profit association aimed at youngsters aged 8 to 12 years keen to learn more about coding! The association organises coding workshops entirely supervised by the association’s volunteers.

The youngsters receive help preparing for the digital world and develop their skills in calculation, problem solving, creativity and collaboration.

In keeping with Spuerkeess’ CSR objectives

As a customer-centric business, with the opening of the Spuerkeess Code Club, Spuerkeess is helping to develop young people’s digital skills! In doing so, the Bank is supporting both an association from Luxembourg and the personal development of the bank’s staff, who will have the opportunity to volunteer to supervise the workshops.

Where and when?

The Spuerkeess Code Club is held twice a week, on Tuesday from 2 PM to 3 PM and Thursday from 4 PM to 5 PM on the Spuerkeess’ premises in Luxembourg’s railway station district. Those wishing to participate can register via the Luxembourg Code Club.

Emma is proud to have learned how to use a computer just like the professionals do and what’s more she’s made loads of new friends!
